CMH has made it pretty clear this year: Focus on Incredible India!

So I have read this article on Hotel News Now and I have to say that even though I am from India, I found it truly interesting to analyze my folks in a "marketing way". 

This article depitcs the Indian Hospitality clientele and how much they are specifics in terms of wants & needs. First of all, we can find out, very surprinsingly that the majority of domestic travelers in India prefer to stay with family and friends rather than in a hotel. This is absolutely not linked with the fact that they can not afford it, but rather very cultural. That is precisely why I found it interesting. 

As I said, I have been raised in the Indian culture and even though I grew up in France, I was not surprised to find this out. Actually, how can it not be when we know that Indians live with their mothers even after their wedding? So different -in comparaison- with the French culture in which oldies are put in a retirement home? It made me smile but is so true. So yes, sure that they prefer to be hosted in families. 

But what's interesting is when you see how hotel marketers have begun to offer family-friendly packages and accomodations to target this growing segment of leisure travelers that represent 740.2 million domestic tourist visits during 2010. Plus, marketers have understood that Indians actually like to travel with friends & their families...sometimes there are even seven to ten families travelling together -and believe me, to have lived it, I can attest it is true :-) - 

So the article makes a focus on Jaypees hotel group and the way they have adapted their offer to this brand new group of travellers. They propose designed packages for family with children.

Prezi VS Issuu

Well, I think those two tools aren't comparable since their use is very different ! Issuu is more likely a magazine format tool whereas Prezi is the new interactive powerpoint ! 

I have nothing to say about Issuu, it is so easy and practical to use it ! As for Prezi, I really liked the concept, but the matter is that you need TIME to use it. If you're in a hurry, forget about it & get back to the old powerpoint !

I won't hide that I'm particulary proud to publish this Issuu today !

As many of my MBA class mates are aware of, my best friend Chahra is studying Culinary Arts in the US @ Johnson & Wales University...

She is so gifted & talented that I've decided to show you one of the menu she made as an assignement !


This article is also for me the occasion to tell her how proud of her I am.  She is a hard-worker, dedicated & passioned human being. I'm totally convinced that she is going to be the world's best chef ! She is able to cook any country's dish at any given moment, and every single time I get to taste something she made, I have goosebumps. Guys, wish you could taste her food someday : You won't forget it for sure ! 
Just so you know, she is currently working in a fine-dining restaurant located in Miami, named Petit Rouge. It's a cozy & delicious french bistro where her talent is speading day after day. 

If you're a food lover, let me advice you to pay high attention to the content of this menu, you're going to be soooooo hungry by reading it !

The perfect tool for your Christmas preparation !

This menu was made for a class project consisting in learning the preparation of a buffet. Not only did her and her class had to learn all the techniques of a cold & hot buffet, but each of them had to come up with their own buffet menu & create the recipe for each items.

For this assignments, students were asked to follow specific instructions like including pates, terrines, smoked & current meats and fishes, mousses, canapés, salads, basically summarizing all the techniques they learned in class by creating their own recipes...

And with the Christmas celebrations coming up, I thought this menu was a nice inspiration for Christmas festivities !
